Uses
Primarily used in the synthesis of chemical intermediates, dyes, UV absorbers, and rubber/plastic antioxidants, it serves as a key raw material for producing antioxidant BHT and antioxidant KY-616. It is also employed in adhesives for manufacturing phenolic resins, while in pharmaceuticals, it acts as a disinfectant. Additionally, this compound is an essential foundational ingredient in the production of the drug TMP and the dye colistin sulfate. Beyond these applications, it finds further use in manufacturing paints, plasticizers, flotation agents, cresol-based dyes, and agricultural pesticides.
